German Softball...

So i'm playing in a softball league this year. Last time i played softball i was on a team with a few guys who played pro baseball and who took the whole thing WAY to seriously, i didn't think i would ever play again. Well i decided to give it another try. My German friend Norbert (the fellow in the picture next to me) ask me to play on his company team. The team is made up of about half an American crew and half international crew. This makes for some fun and funny game time scenarios! For example...

One girl actually hit the ball, she was as surprised as we were and we had to yell at her to "RUN, RUN, RUN..." She did and despite being thrown out well before she reached first base she continued to run. It wasn't until just after she rounded second that we finally got her to stop and head back to the doug out.

They there is my buddy Norbert. We was told that if a runner was coming toward him that he could just tag the runner to get the out. (he's playing third based) Well a scenario arose where he need to tag the runner and he did. The only problem was that he held the ball in his hand when he tagged the runner with this glove. "SAFE!" And then a slew of German words began... words i probably shouldn't write on my blog for fear little kids might stumble upon these writings some day.

It really is fun. Everybody has great attitudes and we have even won a game! With more W's to come for sure!

The day this picture was taken i hit the first grand slam of my softball career. Still reveling in my victory. Despite the fact my team lost. But that's ok, we're having a blast!
