The right sacrifice...

I was reading my bible, using The Guide to yesterday and was just kinda  hit by a couple things. Let me share… ***

“Mortification is the intentional denial of legitimate pleasures in the spirit of Christian poverty that one might become more human...

...What we failed to understand is that a life incapable of significant sacrifice is also incapable of courageous action.”

Spirituality of Ministry by Urban T. Holmes III (in a A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and Other Servants)

I also read Psalm 51, these lines hit me as well…

v.16-17 “You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contrite heart.” v.19 “then there will the right sacrifices…”

Life is crazy these days. I trying to figure what are the “right sacrifices” for me to make are. How do you know these kind of things? This is one of those times where I wish hearing God was easier, I wish it was a clear audible voice. Wouldn’t that be nice!
