Sweet Christmas Cards…

Well I am REALLY bad at sending out Christmas cards. But this year I am trying to send out a few. So I went to Hallmark looking for some cool, not cheesy (very important) Christmas cards. I ran across these cards made by the organization UNICEF. I think have heard of UNICEF before but wasn’t really familiar with what they do or who they are about but I checked out the website a little (I wanna read more about them) and was pretty impressed.

UNICEF:
Is committed to creating a world where every child is free… simply to be a child.

Every card has this little tag line on it and every card has it’s greeting 3 different languages. I think that is pretty cool.

You see, I see the problems in the world and often think, “what can I do.” And I often wonder, “how do I know that this organization or that cause is really doing this out of compassion and not just to pat themselves on the back and get a little fame. After all it’s trendy these days to be an activist.

But I really want to be the kind of person who just does the small things well, that helps in all the little or big way that one can, that gives people the benefit of the doubt for the benefit of doubt, and poverty. I want to be the kind of person that brings “thy kingdom come, thy will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven.” The kind of person that is bringing little chunks of heaven to earth, that’s what I want to be about!

I don’t feel like I am very good at doing this yet but I am on a journey of learning, a journey of praying, “Jesus open my eyes, help me to see where I can be apart of your work.”

This Christmas one little way I can do my part is by sending Christmas cards that give to the cause of hope.

Learning…
