Psalm 130 & some more thoughts for the day...

Psalm 130

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications!

If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with you,
So that you may be revered.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in his word I hope;
My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning,
More than those who watch for the morning,.

O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
And with him is great power to redeem.
It is he who will redeem Israel
From all its iniquities.

God is might to save. And Save literally means SAVE! When we are drowning in the circumstances of life, when we are drowning in our sins… God lifts us up, rescues us, SAVES us.

My soul (my hunger, thirst, deepest longing) wait for the Lord because he is the only one who can satisfy, who can rescue, who can SAVE!

God Redeems us wit his great power. He gives us value even when we feel worthless because of our sin and shame.

Thanks be to God!

Be Peace

PS -- This selection is from the lectionary. The lectionary is a creative way for the Church to read the bible together. The CSR on-line community practices reading the bible together by following along in the lectionary. We also have some message boards so that we can talk about how we are learning to better follow Jesus through our lectionary readings. Participation is pretty scarce these days, help us with the conversation!!!

Check it out at our website and read the bible with us!
We would love to have you on the journey with us
