I am reading a new book this week. [RE] Understanding Prayer by Kyle Lake. It’s a Relevant book and so far it’s pretty good. I mean the guys starts off the book by quoting John Cusack…
“My desert island , all-time, top-five most memorable breakups, in chronological order, are as follows: Alison Ashmore, Penny Hardwick, Jackie Alden, Charlie Nicholson, and Sarah Kendrew. Those are the ones that really hurt. Can you see your name on that list, Laura? Maybe you’d sneak into the top ten. But there’s just no room for you in the top five, sorry. Those places are reserved for the kind of humiliation and heartbreak that you’re just not capable of delivering.”
(John Cusack) High Fidelity
Yea, I didn’t really even need to consult the book to remember that quote, I pretty much have that entire movie memorized. It’s number one on my top five all-time greatest movies list. It tops out a couple other top five lists as well but the point is, this is a classic movie and anyone who starts off his book by quoting it and John Cusack in general is probably going to end up writing a classic book. All 4 chapters have been pretty good so far. I will tell you more as time goes but if you’ve read it give me some feed back. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Still learning to pray
