Impatient in the best way…

I am beginning to read James in preparation for my summer (7 camps so far praying for 2 more). I am completely in the beginning stages of my study but am already being blown away by some of the things I am reading and being lead to think. It is my experience that if something in amazing from a surface level it is most likely going to be extraordinary when you really get into the depths of what is really going on in the text.

The only negative thing is my impatience. I want to preach this stuff tomorrow! (maybe even today) When I begin to learn something I often times find myself wanting to share what I am learning before I am really ready to share it. But it’s so exciting it’s hard to hold back! It’s so fresh and it’s racing through my mind so it’s hard not to share. Rob Bell, one of the best communicators of Jesus and his way that I know of says he studies for an entire year before he teaches what he has studied and learned. CRAZY! How in the heck does he wait that long? I know he has to be as stoked about what he is learning as I am, I mean the stuff is learns and teaches is so incredibly profound and life changing it’s out of control. I feel like when I learn anything even close to profound I am impatient in the best way, I can’t wait to share it and let it get at people like it’s getting at me.

SO yea, I am impatient in the best way.

The good news… if your going to be at a summer camp I am speaking at (check out my calendar) be ready! We will be covering some awesome teaching from the book of James.

Check this…

James 1:16-18
Don’t be deceived brother and sisters, every good and perfect things come from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of all he created.

OH YEA -- I am stoked to dive into this stuff!!!

Can’t wait to share!
